My name is Leah, and I am healthcare professional with over
7 years of experience working within the NHS. I am based in Caldicot, Monmouthshire but offer a mobile service.
During my time working in general practice, I regularly saw patients struggling with hearing problems caused by ear wax build-up. Unfortunately, many GP surgeries no longer offer ear wax removal and seeing how much this affected people’s quality of life is what inspired me to provide a dedicated, accessible and affordable ear wax removal service.
As a mobile service, I aim to make your experience convenient and as stress free as possible by bringing expert treatment directly to you. Whether you are experiencing blocked ears, hearing difficulties, or discomfort, you can trust that you are in safe and experienced hands.

Ear Care Services

Microsuction
Microsuction is the most commonly used method for removing ear wax and is the recommended method as per the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE). A gentle suction device is used while the ear canal is viewed with magnification. This allows wax to be removed precisely and safely.
Microsuction does not involve water which makes it suitable for those with sensitive ears and is indicated when the wax is closer to the entrance of the ear canal.

Ear Irrigation
Ear irrigation (water syringing) is a method of removing ear wax using a controlled flow of warm water to gently flush wax from the ear canal. If you have a history of ear infections, ear drum perforations, previous ear surgery or you experience tinnitus or dizziness, warm water irrigation is not an appropriate method of wax removal.
As part of your consultation with me, I will carry out a full ear assessment and discuss your medical history, then recommend the safest and most appropriate method for you.

Ear Examination
If you are experiencing blocked ears, hearing difficulties or discomfort,
I will carry out a thorough ear examination, discuss your medical history and recommend the safest and most appropriate method to proceed. If there are any signs of infection I may refer you to your GP for treatment.

Charged when an assessment is carried out but no wax removal is required or wax removal is not clinically appropriate.
A £5 travel fee applies for appointments outside a 25 mile radius from my base.
